News Flash: Good News for Madison WI Home Sales
/Madison's potential growth spurt could bode well for property values
We know Madison is a great place to live, work, and play. And it seems more and more people agree. A few recent headlines have us smiling -- and suggest good news for Madison WI home sales and property values.
First up, a spot along East Washington is being eyed for a proposed green business center, similar to Chicago's Green Exchange. According to the Capital Times, the business center would be home to "entrepreneurs, nonprofits, technology companies and financiers all interested in environmental sustainability."
Chicago's Green Exchange, which includes a 41,000-gallon rainwater collection system and an 8,000-square-foot organic garden, helped create 1,200 jobs. Likewise, the Madison proposal would help attract community-minded employers and continue the revitalization of the stretch of Washington just east of the capitol building.
Local business development can mean good things for the surrounding community. So when the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce announced a new business pitch contest, we were all ears.
The idea is to “give local startups the opportunity to promote their work to the area’s business community,” Kevin Little, Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce director of economic development, told the Wisconsin State Journal. It will also serve as “a platform to showcase the innovation and talent in greater Madison beyond our borders."
