This month, we at Roost are excited to roll out the first issue of ROOST Around Town -- our brand-new, monthly email update designed to help you explore the wonderful neighborhoods (including some hidden gems!) that make the Madison area such a unique and diverse place to call home. This month, ROOST Around Town features Sunset Village, on Madison's near-west side: Longtime residents may remember when Sunset Village was a modest, quiet neighborhood tucked along University Ave., just west of UW Hospital. Now, with its proximity to the University, its cozy charm, and the very popular Hilldale Mall just next door, Sunset Village has become one of the most popular areas on Madison's west side. With four parks and three nearby bike routes, residents can enjoy the great outdoors from the heart of the city--only four miles from downtown, and even closer to the shops along Monroe and Regent. A very active neighborhood association has helped to upgrade local parks, welcome new neighbors, and preserve the tree-lined charm that makes Sunset Village a unique place to call home. Read more...
