Tenney-Lapham Neighborhood, Madison WI

Located on Madison’s Isthmus along the southwestern edge of Lake Mendota, this wonderful, near-east neighborhood offers plenty of historic charm and a walkable, central location.

Love getting outside?

Tenney-Lapham is home to the incredibly popular Tenney Park, where residents can play in the summer and ice skate in the winter, offering access to Lake Mendota and the Yahara River. Visit the beach, watch the sunset from the pier, hit the playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball.. You name it, Tenney Park offers something for everyone. Rentable canoe & kayak racks make getting on the water easy peasy.

Saturday morning's are perfect for taking a leisurely stroll to the Capitol Square for the Dane County Farmer's Market. The Eastside Farmer's Market is also super close by and takes place every Tuesday, rain or shine from April 18- October 31 and is just down the street (at Central Park).

The Bicycle Boulevard on East Mifflin Street connects the neighborhood to downtown Madison while the bike tunnels running under E. Washington Ave & E. Johnson Street connect the neighborhood to north and east side neighborhoods as well as the Lake Monona Loop.

Reynold's Park is the original site of Madison bike polo. The courts stay snow free thanks to the water reservoir underneath, allowing bike polo enthusiasts to play year round. Warmer months make Reynolds a destination for Ultimate Frisbee games.

A Concert & Event Destination

Known as Madison's premier outdoor concert venue, Breese Stevens Field is a multi-purpose stadium listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. The facility has hosted athletic events, concerts, community events and more since 1926.

Central Park is just a few blocks away in the neighboring Marquette Neighborhood, offering up live music, festivals & a skate park.
